Natural Cholesterol Guide?

2016-05-18 03:14:53 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

FIBER FIBER FIBER!! This substance is a miracle worker when it comes to cholesterol! I see that you said oatmeal is part of your diet, but oatmeal isn't high enough in fiber to make that much difference. Whole grain cereals (Frosted Mini Wheats are awesome if you're like me, a sugar nut) are a great way to introduce fiber into your diet, as well as green veggies and fruits (I hate veggies, so I drink V8). How does it work? Well, bile, a digestive enzyme, is partially comprised of cholesterol. Fiber, as it's being digested, binds, or locks on to, bile and escorts it out of your body. In order to create more bile, your body has to "consume" some of your body's cholesterol, thereby lowering your total amount. Eating a lower cholesterol diet helps, but people who are young with higher cholesterol have their genetics to blame. Food-based cholesterol contributes to a lower percentage of your cholesterol than your body's natural processes do. Exercising sounds like a great idea to me. Not only will you feel healthier from losing some weight, but exercise increases the amount HDL (High density lipoprotein) cholesterol, which is an indicator of good health. When your "cholesterol is high" what your physician means is all the cholesterol BESIDES your HDL is high (LDLs, VLDLs, and Triglycerides). Keep up the exercise and fiber, and your blood vessels and heart will thank you!

Lower your blood sugar levels and insulin reactivity and cholesterol lowers naturally. Slow cooking 5 minute oatmeal helps too.

www.hufa.org has some books in the library link that explain how lowering insulin lowers cholesterol. Enter the Zone by Sears is good for this.

Sure, you can eat oatmeal. But if you really want some solid results go out and buy some supplements. These are some you can take....

Niacin ..............500mg twice a day
Zinc..................100mg twice a day
Flaxseed oil with
Omega-3.........1000mg twice a day
Alfalfa tablets...1300mg three times a day
Fish oil with
CoQ10.............1000mg twice a day
Vitamin E.........400 iu twice a day
Vitamin C........1000mg twice a day

If you start taking the above supplements, exercise 30 minutes a day and start drinking plenty of distilled water I guarantee that your LDL cholesterol levels will not only drop.....but you will also notice a big positive difference in the way you feel.

Good luck....and may the force be with you!

Start watching what you eat for one thing. Walking is good for you, or other types of exercising. Foods like garlick, fish, exter virgin olive oil, red wine, all will help lower cholesterol. Also eating oats can help I've heard.

Hope you like oatmeal. Quaker claims that if you ingest about a cup and a half of oatmeal everyday for like a month you should be able to drop your cholesterol by as much as 30 points (give or take). Also, be sure to add as much fiber to your diet. Go with whole grain breads instead of white.

Eat Oatmeal, Cheerios and exercise. Contrary to popular belief it's not just eggs and fat causing it, it's hereditary and the only thing one can do, is either go on statin drugs or exercise, like brisk walking every day, lots of fresh veggies and fruits and oatmeal cereal.

Cut out white bread, rolls, cakes and biscuits. Drink plenty of fluid or if you are in Australia a urinary alkalinizer which is a pleasantly flavoured drink called (URAL) every morning and plenty of water during the day! That should lower it down for you. Have a good day!
