The recipe I make for Fried Ice Cream is this: scoop out vanilla ice cream in balls and place on cookie sheet. Place in freezer until very hard. Heat you oil (clean, new) and have a mix of crushed corn flakes mixed with cinnamon and sugar ready. Take out one or two ice cream balls at a time, roll well in mix to cover completely then carefully lower into hot oil and cook til golden brown but not burned. Serve immediately in a bowl. You can add chocolate syrup. Yummy!

Yes. A scoop of ice cream is rolled in a sugary coating and quickly deep-fat fried. It is only in the oil long enough to crystalize the sugar, to create that crunchy outside coating, which literally takes less than a minute. If they left it in any longer....the ice cream would melt!! :) Hope this helps!!
