To experience something different, kinky, wild, etc. In most cases its something his wife won't do. Or maybe she would, but its so freaky, he's too afraid to ask it of her. Could be that he's afraid she might think he's a complete weirdo. With this prostitute, he could get what he want and more than likely never have to see her again.
