It will take a little time and go away by itself but these things might help:

gargle with salt water (a tablespoon or so in a glass of warm water)

drink hot ginger flavored tea -- as hot as you can stand it -- with some honey in it

cough drops, like halls, with eucalyptus

rest your voice

Hope you feel better soon!

My daughter had laryngitis that wouldn't go away for about five months. I finally took her to an ears, nose, and throat specialist, and he told her to stop eating before bedtime not even a cracker. It worked and her laryngitis has been absent for about six months now. Something to do with the acid, and laying down, and it affecting the vocal cords. Hope this helps.

Pretty much the only thing that is going to cure it is to rest your vocal cords. Try to talk as little as possible... I know that's a hard thing to do. You can try to gargle with salt water..but not sure exactly how much good that does. Rest is the best cure for it.

Hot tea with lemon and honey always works!

Add to that gargling with warm salt water, sometimes warm water and hydrogen peroxide for more serious situations.

Hearbal throat drops, lots of hot drinks (but not hot cocoa!), and plenty of rest.

Hope you feel better!
