It's against the law. Hospitals can't turn anyone away, but they can transfer a patient to another hospital once they are stable.

I will assume that you assume that health insurance would be paying the bill and the lack of health insurance means you can not pay the bill.

It depends on where the hospital gets its funding, so there is no correct answer for all hospitals. Some can and some can not.

No they should not and they can not. However they do give you less than adequit care if you do not have insurance. My late husband had gone to John's community hospital in Taylor, TX. We did not have inusrance. He went there complaining of chest pains, shortness of breath, and coughing. The doc said it was a collapsed lung and indegetion. Told him to go home and just relax. 4 days later he was dead of a massive pulmonary embolism which the doc did not even bother to check for even tho his symptoms pointed to it. If we had insurance he would have been given the proper tests that would have shown that he had massive blood clots and he could have been treated properly.

no longer very familiar with the cheap Care Act, are you? It strongly ENCOURAGES coverage by the corporate. It penalizes great employers who do no longer grant coverage. those intense dollar quotes are the only way insurers can grant rules on the exchanges at a loss. Your assertion isn't smart.
