is this an uncommon thing? or are these two things completely unrelated? BP is 150/100 but pulse is only 65 and thats just after racing back from the kitchen!

That's pretty normal. As you blood pressure increases your heart rate will slow down in order to compensate for that increased resistance due to your veins narrowing. Your heart rate is still within the normal range though, so depending on what your heart rate normally runs those two things may not be related. Either way you need to have your BP tended to.

Pulse seems fine, but BP is a little high, hypertension. Basically Blood Pressure measures your heart. The top number is the systolic number and measures the pressure exerted from the left ventricle of the heart. This is where the heart pumps the blood to the body. So when the heart contracts, this is the force. The bottom number is the diastolic number, this is when the heart, left ventrical is at rest. So you can see blood pressure measures the pressure. There could be numerous reasons for this reading. Personally I would see a doctor and see what the underlying cause is, maybe it is normal for you, but I would get it checked out.

that is known as essential hypertension and I would get my butt to a doctor for treatment asap.
