I was diagnosed with genital herpes and it was very hard to tell my boyfriend that I had this problem. He was very understanding. I thought that he was going to leave me. Instead he stuck around and he was then diagnosed with the std as well. There was no way I could have known how I got it since most people dont even know that they do have it. It spreads very easily. I would tell your friend to talk to her Dr. and possibly get on a medication that can reduce the chances of her spreading them to others. Before she has sex with a new partner it is important that she inform this person before hand. If the partner decides that he doesnt want to have sex with her anymore thats okay too. You cant blame him. Its not her fault and if she was given this decision then she probably wouldnt have herpes now. One day she will meet the right guy that wont care. Until that day comes she needs to use condoms and stay safe!

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?

Yeah herpes are so terrible because they spread like wild fire and cant be cured. Alot of people suffer from this and just like having any other disease you have to tell the person you have sex with before hand because it would not be fair to give them this virus. If someone asked you if you still wanted to have sex with them and they tell you they have herpes or aids i am sure you would say no. This is the perfect lesson for people that are still virgins because they can realize that one simple mistake can leave you alone with the herpes virus. Maybe she will find someone else who has the virus to sleep with. I am not trying to be rude but you can't feel bad when a guy tells you he doesnt want to sleep with you because you have herpes cause you should have been protecting yourself before with condoms,or just not sleeping around. Herpes is nasty and painful and just gross so i wouldnt want to sleep with her either if i was a guy. Would you ?

Preferrably before they have sex with that partner. He/she should just be honest, don't hide it...that kind of lie will come back and bite them on the butt.
