Not all warts can be detected with a pap so get a blood test too. If you have an STD get a blood test anyways, you should clear yourself for HIV.

No, a sonogram will not tell you either. Herpes needs to done via blood test unless you have an active outbreak, the a swab of the blisters can be done. Blood tests will frequently come back negative even if you have them. The herpes virus lays dormant in the nerves until just before you have an outbreak, so to catch it in the blood stream, you need to be getting ready to have an outbreak, having an active outbreak or just having had one.

As far as genital warts, since the are normally external you should be able to see them yourself and do not need any kind of sonogram to see them. Go to www.webmd.com and read about both if you have more questions, there is a ton of info about them there.

No, only an exam would be able to tell that. Sonograms look at the internal, herpes and warts are an external disease.

Nope. Only a pap can detect genital warts and only a blood test with wet prep can detect herpes.

No, If you feel that you might be infected, Please advise your health care professional and ask to be tested (while you have an outbreak). A culture will be taken at the site of the outbreak and you should have results in about 7-14 days. Herpes is only detectable IF you are having an outbreak. IF you are female and pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant PLEASE be sure to inform your doctor or midwife during a prenatal visit of your issue to prevent spreading this disease to the baby.
