If you do not want to kill something for your taste, what is wrong with something that is 100% animal product free to taste like the real thing? Its healthy and you are still a vegetarian. Cannibals do not exist here so no need to go into what will be done for them.

I can certainly understand why a person who gives up meat might want to eat a meat substitute. Unfortunately, most of those products are refined, highly processed, soy-based, junk food. IMO, if you're going to eat soy protein, it's better to eat traditional soy foods, like tempeh, tofu, sufu, natto, miso, etc., and not junk made in a factory from soy that has been processed at high temperatures with hydrochloric acid.

There are no cannibals in developed worlds and a cannibal cannot be a vegetarian. Not even a remotely clever "question"

Well if you book a trip to New Guinea, you will be the first to find out. In some places there, they still eat people. Mostly dead family members and those they capture during tribal wars. But I am sure they will welcome some fresh western meat. Take your own hot sauce.

Somehow I doubt the manufactured foods industry has focused much of their marketing efforts on the cannibal community.

Great question Miss K: I have never understood the reasoning behind the likes of vegetarian sausages, bacon, chops that are made to look and taste like the real thing. If non-meat meals are so important to vegetarians why don't they just eat their whatever they call it....................

I would never touch anything that was supposed to be meat flavoured but is in fact veggie, although I understand there are people that wish to cut down their meat consumption, without becoming veggies. If you are vegetarian then I don't think it is right to eat something meat flavoured.

Of course they do. I mean haven't you ever seen fried tofu legs at the local supermarket?
