You can find a free public health STD clinic in your area through the following link:
http://www.ncsddc.org/programsites.htm

Most of these clinics have drop in hours. Its always a good idea to be the first one there when they open- that way you have less of a wait and have a better chance of being seen. Also, most of these clinics are free.

If you decide to go to another place, just call- and say you want to make an appointment for a full STD screen. This is not something you need to feel embarassed or ashamed of- in fact, you are being mature and responsible by being tested. You are protecting your body and your future and current partners. All sexually active people should be tested regularly.

If you'd like more help, past your email address and I can help you find a free clinic in your area. (This is my job, by the way).

Its a great idea to get tested regularly- at least once a year.

PS- you can get STDs from oral too...

You can go to a public clinic most states maintain state VD clinics in every fairly large city.

What do you want to get tested for? There are different tests for different diseases. Without any symptoms they would have to give you all the tests to see if you have anything.

Maybe talk to the counselors at the clinic if you are asymptomatic they can put your mind at rest or tell you what to be looking for if you have caught something.

you can go to your Doctor and he will take a sexual history and any symptoms you may have and get you the tests you require
you can also go to a gum clinic if you want it to be anonymous or don't feel comfortable having it done at your local GP
you should get tested regularly as some diseases have an incubation time and there for cant be detected straight away.

You do need to see your doctor first and talk to him/her about your sexual history so they can order the right tests. You might need a swab, urine and blood.
