Here's how you handle panic attacks. You look on line for a anxiety disorder clinic. You make an appointment. You show up to that appointment. You talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. If you try treating it on your own the problem can become 100 times worse. Imagine that? Some people become paralyzed by this disease. They can become a prisoner in their own home. Not being able to even answer the phone. Panic attacks are very treatable. In time you'll have none at all if you go get help. Donny Osmond had them. Terry Bradshaw had them. Imagine that Terry Bradshaw. Winner of the Super Bowl and a guy who appears to have more self-esteem than he needs. It's not a stigma to seek help. Getting help will only improve your life. Good luck!

I am on Xanax. I also have breathing problems which bring on the anxiety. I had the anxiety attacks before the breathing problems. The anxiety just became worse and more often with the breathing.

I have learned a breathing method that seems to help immensely. I breathe in slowly and deeply thru my nose and exhale with pursed lips out of my mouth. I concentrate on that while I am doing it. Try it.

I could not make it without the Xanax. But we are all different. I found it quite interesting what someone said about sleep. That is true. If I become overtired and have not had enough sleep, it can bring on a minor attack. I have minor and major attacks.

Therapy didn't help me. But it doesn't mean it won't help you. You have to experience different avenues to discover what works best for you. Good Luck to you. Sometimes it is comforting to know you are not alone, especially at 5:00 a.m. and you awake with one.............

Just remember to take one day at a time or one project at a time. Don't try to do everything at once in your mind. Think of something nice..... a good memory, or like in your dreams when you can fly on your own. Breath in deep 3 times and let it out slowly. Lack of sleep can bring on a panic attack as well as stressing out. Good luck, and always now that your not alone.

I use Rescue Remedy. My stomach reacts to my anxiety.

When I feel sick (er) in my stomach,,,I use several drops on my tongue and then I review what thoughts were going on in my mind to cause the anxiety to increase.

Discovering the emotional triggers to anxiety is the first step in reducing attacks in the long run, the Rescue Remedy provides help in the moment of crisis.
