I'm very sorry to hear this. I've been a diabetic for years. Other symptoms would include craving breads, such as yeast rolls and sweet cornbread and pizza, unexpected or excessive outbursts of temper (when the sugar is high), blurred vision (is he sitting too close to the TV), sleepy after binging on sugar....

please get him checked. Early prevention can help, and will also explain some behavioral problems he may be having.

Good luck to you.

Get him to a Doctor. Don't wait. My son's Blood Sugar was over 500 when he was first tested. This is not good.

This is a disease, that when caught early can be sustained with a little learning and some discipline. Get a diagnosis as early as you can.

Is he lethargic? Does he urinate a lot? Does he have headaches and complain of blurred vision? If you answered two out of these three questions yes....get to a Doc Now.

Don't go to Wal Mart to test on your own or ask questions on internet bulletin boards.

You are talking about your son possibly having diabetes! It's a very serious disease and is incurable.

At my Kimkins diet website we have many members with diabetes, obesity and complications from diabetes including foot amputations who want to find a good diet to manage their condition. Kimkins is low calorie low carb and works very well for type 1 and type 2 diabetics.

Take him immediately to his doctor or urgent care. A simple urine or blood test will tell you.

You'll find all kinds of information on diabetes and other healthy links on my diabetes info webpage. I would bet that putting him on a healthy diet will fix a lot of those symptoms. But it's always a good idea to get his blood sugar checked. Don't buy those syringes just yet....

Sugar craving is NOT a sign.
Excessive thirst and frequent urination are.
If he gets up to pee more than once a night (between 4-20 years old) it could be a sign.
Chapped lips come from licking them. Get a balm that tastes bad--like carmex.
Best bet?
Have the doc test sugar (glucose) levels.

Yep, he could be. Drinking lots and going to the bathroom are signs that he could have type 1 diabetes. Take him to the dr as soon as you can.

Those are definitely symptoms. If you want to know for sure, go to Walmart and get a blood sugar monitor for about $11. It will include some test strips. Check his blood sugar. If it is 200+ mg/dl, he is definitely diabetic.

Get some insulin and syringes after this.
