I don't know what kind of Poker-we always play Hold'em. I would try and get some poker tables or the table tops anyway. You can get decorations at a party planning store. I would get a huge sub from Subway or Tubbys or you can make one. Lots of dips and chips and appetizers--in other words, finger foods work best for poker games. Nothing too sloppy.
Have fun, sounds like a blast.

Food: use a potato peeler to score vertical lines in yellow zuccini and green cucumbers. Now cut into disks to make 'edible poker chips!' Serve with dip.

For the poker stuff, here's a full guide to setting up a home poker tournament. Included are links to online poker goods suppliers:

Keep food simple {finger foods but not saucy or too greasy}cause they are playing cards. Plenty of ice cold beer and maybe a btl. of rye or scotch with ice cubes.Napkins with 40 on them would be good. Make sure you have a poker chip set and a good flat table with plenty of elbow room. Send hubby to the store to fetch you a list of things {more than one destination is always good}and make sure the buddies either taxi it over or park their cars away from your place, and get there on time! Good luck and have fun!

A couple hookers, a strung-out Bad Santa, and a donkey comes to mind but that was our Christmas party at the Hyatt hotel last year. How about everything I mentioned except the Bad Santa. (He is curently in prison on unrelated charges).
