Banana has more sugar content than potassium. Hence it is bad for diabetes. Don't cross examine the Doctor's advice with " "somebody said, read somewhere, heard somewhere", knowledge.....

Bananas are a good source of potassium. They are high in sugar; however if you manage your diabetes it can be eaten half a banana at a time. There are potassium pills you can buy over the counter from Wal Mart. There is good and bad in lots of foods and some effect different individuals in more adverse ways than others. I am diabetic and often eat a banana or other fruit without much problem. You know your blood sugar goes up and down all day. So it will be high a couple hours after a meal. In my case rice and pasta are the worst culprits, moderation is the key. Get a little pamphlet they have at the check-out counter at HEB for counting carbs it helps me. You'll get it all together you are on the right track.

I have never heard that banana's are bad for diabetes. I would think that as long as you account for it in your shot it would be fine.
