Grant it I'm no doctor, but I have always battled with sines problems all my life and the symptoms that you are describing are caused by a drainage from your nose onto the back of your throat. You have to dry up your nose. You may say "my nose isn't running tho." doesn't matter its still draining. You have to get a medicine that has large milligrams of phenylephrine. Most meds have like 10 or 20 milligrams but I use mucanex. You can buy it at most drug stores. Its kinda on the expensive side but it works better than any thing I have ever taken. If you don't get that nose dried up its going to drain into your chest and that is always a hassle to get cleared up. Hope this helps.

This sounds crazy, but try a surgical mask. Or if you don't have one, a piece of clean cloth (or even a muffler) around your face. It traps the air you breathe, and makes it warm and moist, which may help your cough.

Some people say breathing fresh, cold air helps.

Other people suggest a steam bath. Pour boiling water into a bowl, add a drop or two of essential oil (lavender, tea tree, lemon or eucalyptus) if you have them (a teaspoon of Vicks is good too), then put your head over the bowl, and put a towel over your head. Breathe for 10 minutes -- adjust the towel to let in fresh air if it gets too hot.

Try not to stress out. It may take some time for the cough medicine to work. These are some good ways to pass the time.

This could be the ventilation system in your home.
But if you have a cold and sinus trouble and are still coughing try taking soothing cough drops like Ricolah (spelling?). And, prop your head up with a couple of pillows and lie strait in bed....this will help you too......will help your diaphragm and make you relax more and breathe better. Keep a glass of water at your bedside too.

I'm not really sure about this, I've never tried it myself, but I've heard from many people that honey works to cure coughs. Also, Delsym works fairly well, and a Vicks product may work. I can't guarantee anything, but I hope this helps, and I hope you're feeling better soon! :)

You need to see your doctor and have a CXR and full exam done. Without knowing your medical history, it could be a variety of things-only your doctor can accurately diagnose this-but usually spontaneous coughing when lying flat or without environmental irritants can indicate pulmonary and/or cardiac conditions. Please have yourself checked out-good luck!
