Why don't you have yourself checked? But I think you also need to choose healthful foods more and not just what you mentioned and especially not just candies.

Get a doctor appointment and talk to him/her about this. Tell your doctor that you have been noticing this and was wondering if it means anything. Eating candy form a young age does NOT lead to the diagnoses of diabetes. If that were so then there would be a lot more people in the world with diabetes. The simple carbs in the candy would cause a spike in your blood glucose while the complex carbs form the bread and cereal wouldn't cause such a high spike and you wouldn't feel run down.

I agree with all the above answers about seeking the advice of your physician and having the glucose tests run. If that does not prove to be diabetic related, it may be an allergic reaction to something in a particular kind of candy you eat. Most likely, you are showing signs of diabetes. The amount of carbs you eat in a particular meal may not be running your glucose levels high enough to make you run down and sleepy..you may have built up a level of tolarence and the simple sugars and larger amounts consumed in your candy intake may be running you higher than what you body's tolerance level currently is. Speaking of tolerance, I used to be so out of control that I built a tolerance where I could totally funtion running glucose levels of 400++. After using my pump therapy for the last 11 years, I am able to maintain normal glucose levels without the feeling of hypo-glycemic episodes at anything under 150. However, by adjusting my tolerance, if my glucose hits 250++, I feel quite ill.
So, just because carbs do not make you feel sleepy, it does not mean your not diabetic. Please see your physician and get tested. Only he or she can diagnose the illness. However, you can get yourself an idea by asking a fellow diabetic that owns a blood glucose monitor if he or she will test if for you to see what you glucose levels are running. Normal glucose levels generally runs in the 70-100 margin with variations. I would be more concerned with anything over 120. None-the-less, it is not a diagnosis and you still need to see your physician for a diagnosis.
I wish you the best...good luck.

You have been a "real candy addict"....
You need to see your doctor. tell him about your observation, because apparently too much candy consumption from a very young age can lead to diabetes.
