Papaya can be eaten at any time you like. But when u eat friuts after a meal, they usually just turn to sugar and gets stored in yr body and can cause one to put on weight. So it's best to eat yr papaya, or fruits for that matter, approx. 3 hours before a meal. For eg, have 2 slices of papaya for breakfast, then eat proper lunch. Or have some papaya during tea break time, and then eat dinner 3 hours later.

Eating fruits for the break-fast or for the dinner is good for health. Papaya is less acidic so, if you eat inthe break-fast, if will be acting as a soother for your stomoch. And also, since you work less during night time (unless you are going for a dancy party), a light food like papaya will help your digestive system. Also human muscle/fat is grown most during the night time (When you sleep. Fruits are like fillers and give minarals and vitamins and less fat. And also you need to avoid taking fruits immediately after meal as it will increase sugar levels and thus fat. However, if the quantity of meal reduced, to compensate the same, you may take papaya (any other fruit). Papaya is benificial for one more reason, it improves one's complexion (considerably), if taken early in the morning.

papaya is a good health fruit.
So any time to take this.

just eat it when you feel wanna eat

The best time is to eat it when you are on diet and hungry. Eat in between yr meals as snacks. You can aslo eat it before a meal so that you won't eat too much during your meal.

We always had it before. The trick is this: Buy it somewhat green and lightly stripe the surface end to end with the tip of a knife about five times. This will allow the sap to dribble out of the skin and will prevent it from being bitter.
