The secret of health is to maintain drainage....in all systems. The sinuses become infected if they do not drain properly, and the body's natural defences are thwarted. If you develop sinus congestion you should relieve it before infection sets in. Taking decongestants like Sudafed and nasal sprays....cautiously following package directions.....along with mucus liquifiers like
guiafenesin can often prevent the need for antibiotics (which have their own problems). If you develop fever along with sinus pain, see your doctor.

If you have sinus infection symptoms you can do a couple of things --

drink orange juice like water

eat guacamole with lots of raw garlic in it (raw garlic is an mild anti-biotic)

take benadryl that is only a antihistamine (Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride) and don't take anything with decongestants in it ever -- decongestants dry out your sinuses and make them a good place for molds and infections to grow.

the down side of taking antibiotics for sinus infections is they take 2 wks to work -- about the same as the life span of a sinus infection anyway.

If you have a sinus infection the antibiotics will help within 2 days.
If you got a shot you should feel better overnight. If symptoms don't improve you might have a virus and antibiotics will not help that and you'll continue to have the problem. If you have bad allergies take your allergy medication as the doctor told you and maybe a shot or tablets of cortisone will help.

I don't think antibiotics are good for you at all. I have just had a sinus infection and read that taking pain relievers actually make it worse. I did a Google search on a natural cure for for sinus infections.

antibiotics can clear up an sinus infection but only if you get to the doctor at the first sign you think you have one. some times the medicine will not work or if you are immune to the antibiotics it will not work on you.

Antibiotics only work if you have a sinus infection. If it's just allergies, then it won't help at all.

Taking too many antibiotics can be harmful. Overexposure to them can cause the strain of infection to become immune same as it does you. That can lead to super infection that are antibiotic resistant. If you can go without an antibiotic you really should.

it depends. If I have allergies no. But if my allergies turn into a sinus infection aka green stuff coming out of my nose and chest congestion then yes.
