I wish that the difference between the "Kosher" and "Halaal" meat and "ordinary" meat truly WAS spiritual rather than physical! Unfortunately this is no longer the case. Today, especially in the United States, the meats are pumped so full of hormones, genetically altered material and chemicals that we really have NO IDEA what we are eating.
The US allows so many adulterants to its meats that some countries such as Canada or Europe, most people simply will not buy American produced meats under any condition or at any price. (In Canada you can see a pound of steak at $4.00, if produced in the province of Alberta it will say $5.00 but if imported from the US, $3.25!)
We see that Americans themselves, aware of this trend, buy increasingly greater amounts of top quality restaurant meats and consumer beef from Canada and Mexico (where LESS adulterants are permitted to be added to meat) instead of domestic suppliers. You see this in really top quality beef restaurants in Canada and Mexico just over the border where the parking lots are literally crammed with US licence plates but the on the US side of the border, the reverse is not true.
(I mean I really LOVE women, but that doesn't mean that I want my body crammed full of "female hormones!")
I am no supporter of the religious reasoning behind "kosher" or "halaal" meat products, BUT I would buy them, just the same, because I would be certain that they were less contaminated with adulterants than "main stream" American meats!

The first is that the meatl is itself is called Halal.
The second, is that the food the animal consumes does not contain any blood or meat. Sakr explains that the animal has to be herbivorous to be Halal, and adds that an animal becomes Haram if it consumes blood and /or meat.
The third condition Sakr lists for an animal to be Halal is that it should not be given any hormones.
In the meat industry, he says beef and chicken are given female sex hormones. This is meant to increase the weight of the animal in a short period of time.
The effect of consuming an animal with injected female hormones is a reduction in the masculine appearance of boys and men and Sakr mentioned "KFC and and MacDonald's" as two examples. The meat industry also puts the preservatives nitrite or nitrate in meat. These react with the amino group of amino acids of the meat or protein to produce nitroso-amine. This is red pigment. This results in meat still looking red in its color, as if it is fresh, even if it has been on the shelf for one or two weeks. While this may be good for industry, it causes cancer.

You mean Halal, is the Muslim form of processing meat, similar to the Kosher way Jewish people are used to processing there meat, although the Kosher method involves salting the previously bleed meat, inspected by the rabbi to make sure the process is proper.
Halal is more the way the animal is killed, bleed and processed to go to market, the meat is fresher, and made ready for the market by the Iman whom like the Rabbi that the process has been conducted properley.

as many have noted halal meat is how the animail is killed. but i believe that b/c of this specific process it actually does make the meat taste better, and your always guaranteed the meat is fresher.. buy a halal chicken and you will 100% taste the difference.. i only can always tell the difference, the taste is so much better.. if i can't find halal meat, i will go to a kosher butcher before i buy from a supermarket or other butcher.

Meat become halal the way they kill the animal. They let all the blood to come out, so the meat will stay fresh and no smell when you cook it. The taste is different from the ordinary meat.

I think you mean Halaal. Halaal is similar to Kosher. it involves slaughtering the animal with a very sharp knife on its jagular vain in a quick swift and humane way. also the name of God has to be said on each animal before slaughtering. the carcas has to be drained off all the blood. Any sane adult muslim can slaughter an animal.
The diffrence between kosher meat is only a Rabi can slaughter an animal, the name of God is only said on the 1st carcass and the meat has to be salted .

It's not so much physical as it is spiritual. The rules of halal for meat are similar to that for kosher meat, with rules for how the animal is killed.

Halal only means the way an animal is slaughtered.
I personally believe this method is only relevant to the Muslim or Kosher tradition.
