I am assuming you meant that she does not have insurance. Since most insurances are HMO's these days there is not much issue with covering pre-existing conditions. She should not have any trouble, but she should ask about thier policies before signing up.

If she currently has insurance and is not going through a coverage lapse for more than 6 months if she is switching insurance, then no, they cannot deny coverage. If she is going to have a lapse of in excess of 6 months, then they can deny coverage for generally between 3 months and 1 year, depending on the condition I would like to think.

Please have the provider give her information on HIPPA (Health insurance privacy and portability act)

if she has been examined and diagnoses by a doctor it will be considered a pre-exsisting condition. Depending on what she has, it may not be that much to treat. Maybe a round or two of I.V anti-biotic or maybe just some penicillian. She could even try getting help from a county health dept. or a free clinic.

Go to the health department; it's free and they have an STD clinic.
