Do you mean "Labyrinthitis"?
Labyrinthitis is an ear disorder that involves irritation and swelling of the inner ear. It is a balance disorder that usually follows an upper respiratory tract infection (URI). It is, as the name suggests, an inflammatory process affecting the labyrinths that house the vestibular system (which sense changes in head position) of the inner ear.
Please see the webpages for more details on Labyrinthitis.

The ear drums connect to bones of middle ear and they to the labyrinth of the inner ear. The semicircular canals are also there. In inner ear infection or conditions the labyrinth and canals are involved thus labyrinthitis.
