I think being a vegetarian is really good. I have recently become a vegetarian because I don't think an animal should die just because I'm hungry. Also, every time I took a bite of meat, I was thinking " How could you support the killing of an animal?" Yes, vegetarianism is definitely a contributing act and can save up to 70 animals lives, in one year, by one vegetarian.

I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian, even though everyone else in my family are meat eaters. I started it as an experiment, and I felt so good that I've just continued on. I feel healthier and stronger since giving up meat. I think being a vegetarian is good, if it makes you feel good. If it doesn't, if you feel like crap and don't have any energy, if you gain weight and suffer from vitamin deficiencies, then maybe it's not right for you.

I went vegetarian a little over a year ago and I LOVE IT! I always felt so guilty eating meat. Here I am saving animals (I'm a rescue volunteer), then turning around and cooking other animals for dinner. It felt so hypocritical. I mean, who's to say that it's okay to eat a cow and not a horse, or a rabbit and not a cat. We've been taught to eat "food animals" and to provide care for "pet" animals but what is really the difference? If you spend any time with ANY type of animal, you realize they have brains and think and behave very similarly to a cat or dog.
The first time I went veg, I couldn't do it. There just wasn't anything to eat! But nowadays, they have SOOOOOO many meat alternatives. Morningstar Farms is my favorite... they've got everything from sausage links to corn dogs to hamburgers and steak strips... and it all tastes really great. You still get your protein and with less than half the fast you'd get in a meat based meal.
I do still eat eggs and dairy... although I recently got my own laying hens so now I have non-fertile, cage free, well cared for chickens. I KNOW it's not hurting them to give me their eggs. I also eat fish... although I'll probably stop at some point.
There's just so many horrible things that go on in factory farms. Eating meat wouldn't bother me so much if it came from a cow that was well cared for, then humanely killed and butchered. However that's just not the case with the meat we buy. Animals are kept in horrible conditions, often barely able to even turn around, knee-high in their own feces and urine... then turned into food. Yuk. No thank you!

I am a vegetarian. Vegeterianism is most good then anything. What do the people get by killing those animals for taste? It is right in the animals world but because the food for animal is animal only. But man don't have anyright to kill the animals.

I'm an omnivore! And honestly no i don't think being a vegetarian is a good thing. You don't get all the protein you need in your daily diet by being a vegetarian. How extreme of a vegetarian are you? Do you drink milk, and eat dairy products? If not were do you get your calcium for your bones to keep them strong?
