No, I don't like the taste of meat, nor the smell of it cooking.

And, because you're a vegetarian doesn't mean you automatically eat Veggie Burgers.... Veggie and Soy Burgers are a common "transition" food... for those who are making the switch to an all vegetable diet. I don't enjoy most meat analogs, but... I do keep them around for friends and family, who want something a little more familiar for dinner... and I'm not willing to cook them meat!

Also, I believe the goal of the meat analog is more to remove the pain and suffering of an animal it is replacing... than to be an exact match for the taste of meat...

I had a spicy black bean burger the other day... Mmmmm tasty...

One of my best friends is vegetarian. She and I actually talked about this. She said the only meat she misses at all are chicken nuggets. Veggie burgers don't taste like meat, and if they did, she couldn't eat them because the very taste of meat makes her sick. Same goes for soy hot dogs. The reason she and other vegetarians eat these is so that they can be social and not be difficult...if someone is grilling, they can just have a veggie burger thrown on the grill instead of demanding a whole different meal or not eating at all.

I don't like the taste of meat- and usually don't buy soy burgers that pretend to be something they are not. If I ever do buy a soy burger- its for the convenience and the protein source. Also, if I am at a bbq and everyone else is eating cow burgers and I want to fit it, soy or veggie burgers that look meatish can do the trick.

No, I don't care for the taste of flesh food. and no, I don't eat the Soy Burger and/ or Veggie Burgers. I have tasted one or two and never noticed it tasted like meat, anyway. I don't eat them because it just doesn't appeal to me.
If a vegetarian is eating something that has the taste of meat, that is still totally different than eating a piece of flesh.....for example, a raw steak has blood in the center of it. I have never seen blood in a Veggie burger!

When I was a vegetarian I never disliked the taste of meat, I was doing it for ethical reasons. However, I find that a lot of soy protein products do not really taste like meat. Some of them have a similar taste or texture, but not all of them do a good job, and meat has a taste all its own.

if one should eat meat then go for Organic but only if you could guarantee that it was organic 100%. Also go for Kosher because all the blood would be drained out of the animal. apart from this soy has a taste that isn't of meat but it is protein the cook would have to add the taste. Because soy is bland in all taste.

the taste/ thought of eating meat became sickening to me since i have been a vegetarian. I don't think of veggie/soy burgers as meat replacements but more as vegetables.
