Some garlic butter fettucini, little red potatoes, steamed, and garlic bread or toast. Also have a nice bottle of white wine.

Rice seems to be the perfect solution, if you don't like the rice idea, there is also some of those pastas, such as risotto, or maybe cous-cous., being that you are making spicy shrimps, you don't want anything to overwhelm their flavor, you want to taste the spice.
