Not advisable to take expired medicines. Generally, expired medicines won't make you sick except some few exceptions like tetracycline which can be fatal if taken wxpired. However, after expiration date medicines loss its 10% potency and most medicines can be no longer effective.
What you took was not that harmful, still it worked but in less effectivity. Nothing to worry for now but in the future avoid doing so especially if you do not know if such medicine just lost its effectiveness or could be dangerous. All medicines should be discarded past one year of its expiry.♥

Expired drugs are no longer unavoidably risky, yet now and back are much less efficacious. additionally, the expiration dates marked on the equipment are often very conservative, so in fact a med with a 2003 expiration date is maximum probable going to be ok for many greater years. So, i does no longer hassle relating to the protection of the citizens, however the nurse ought to nonetheless be discarding the expired meds.

The thing with expired meds is that it'll still work it's just not as potent as before their experation date....it's not poisonous, you would probably have to take more dosage...
