If you cough up blood, it comes from your lungs or (perhaps) your throat. Personally, I'd consider the first time a curiosity and the second time a warning that something is seriously wrong. You never know when the third time will come or how bad it will be. I have known people to die from hemoptysis, so you decide if it's serious or not. It's not the kind of thing you can just put a Band Aid on and hold under pressure until it stops.

You can ~probably~ wait and see, but that's your call. It depends on how much actual blood you coughed up.

If there is any bleeding in the lungs due to various reason - most commonly infection such as TB. pneumonia, neoplasms,etc. , an obvious sign would be a blood-stained sputum if the bleeding is mild and if bleeding is increased, there will be coughing up of blood. Other signs will include difficulty or shortness in breathing , wheezing sound on breathing, some chest pain or back pain.

You need to see a doctor for thorough assessment. Chest X-ray will be done most commonly.♥

with all the eastern europeans coming over tuberculosis is back .i know 2 people who got it. ones got it in his back and another in his lungs and my girlfriends x farther inlaw died in the street in glasgow .drowned in his own blood
