I'd just like to hear some thoughts on this. I have heard it said that female to male trasmission has never been proven, and that most evidence points against it. I've also heard that the media has tried to get everyone to believe that AIDS is a disease for everyone. So what is it?

I tend to believe that prostitutes have to be crawling with AIDS, and if it were true that women could give it to men, those prostitutes would have caused AIDS to run rampant on the world. Any thoughts?

I think it's because most hookers give b*j*s....I'm not sure if they can pass their AIDS thru that! I know the HIV virus is present in saliva....but I'm not sure if it can be passed that way.

I'm sure that some prostitutes do indeed have HIV or AIDS. I don't think that someone with full blown AIDS will be working the streets. Not for long, anyway. HIV can be transmitted from female to male, male to female, male to male but rarely female to female.

I believe that many prostitutes carry condoms for their customers and have regular testing. They are probably cleaner than that "nice" girl you picked up at the bar last weekend.

Well first of all it can be spread either way. Second most, not all, but most use condoms. In Nevada, where prostitution is legal, they are required by law to use condoms, and go in for checkups monthly. Just like in pornography, AIDS and HIV are rare in porno's, in fact there was a scare a few years back and most stopped making movies while they confined the people who had it and then started working again after the peopel were removed. FACT: There are less cases of AIDS and HIV in prostitutes and Porno stars than in an average American, I guess since they are in such a high risk area they take precautions that most people don't

In this day and age, they must be getting tested regularly, and using condoms to prevent them from getting it or pass it on. Plus, not everyone on earth sleeps with prostitutes. But there are also other ways of catching HIV/AIDS. IV drug use, blood transfusions, unprotected sex with anyone who is positive for the disease (doesn't necessarily have to be a prostitute).

Not all prostitutes have AIDS first of all. Also, where did you get your info? Of course female to male/male to female has been proven. Why do you think it's so prevelant? Thinking like this is what helps AIDS kill millions of people around the world.

No, because:

1. Not all prostitutes have AIDS - quite a few use protection.
2. Not all men go to prostitutes.

It's certainly true that HIV doesn't transmit as effectively from woman to man as it does from man to man or man to woman. Usually the man needs to have an open wound like a herpes sore to get HIV easily from vaginal sex with a woman. An expert told me that the chances of transmission are 1 in a 100 in the absence of a secondary STD like herpes. But spare a thought for women because they can get it easily from men through ordinary heterosexual intercourse. The white male heterosexual should care about AIDS too because he'll get it in the end if he doesn't stop others from contracting it.

Well, contrary to popular belief, most of Humanity does'nt sleep with prostitutes.

It also helps that some people who find themselves in a relationship with someone who has frequented prostitutes use protection to avoid spreading any diseases one may or may not have.

Prostitutes are experts in their careers fields. They know what they need to know. They use condoms and their pimps probably make them get checked out every once in a while. If you go to one who doesn't use a condom, then you and her are crazy. People who do contract HIV through through payed for sex probably LIE about how they got it.
Since prostitution is illegal, there is no way of knowing the statistics of protsititutes who have it.
HIV lives in bodily fluids, it knows no gender and we ALL have blood.

A good prostitute always uses protection in the form of a condom. Also good prostitutes are checked by a doctor monthly or how ever often they are required to get checked.

because the ones that aren't diseased yet require their male customers wear condoms.

the ones who are diseased and have a conscience also require it.

only the dumbest guys would go bareback into a prostitute. It's like playing russian roulette with STDs instead of bullets.
