I'm Lebanese and our cuisine has lots of specialities, but I'll tell u about the most famous:
1- Hummus (smashed chick peas with special sauce, it's like a dip)
2- tabouleh (like a salad with parsley, tomatoes, onions and cracked wheat)
3- barbecued lamb meat, kafta (minced lamb meat mixed with onion and parsley)
4- Kibbeh (minced meat with crakked wheat and mixture of fried pine and onion )

I grew up in Detroit and I would have to say coney dogs are the national food of southeastern Michigan.
