Seriously, let's just live and let live.
Unfortunately, some veggies, some vegans, and some meat eaters like to proselytise, so we'll never get any peace.

There are people that specifically come into the forum entitled "Vegetarian and Vegan " section to have a go at V&V, so i think we are entitled to defend ourselves. You don't see V&V going around the other food and drink sections having a go at meateaters there, so i think its a group of meateaters that have the problem.

Persoanlly, i don't mention being a V outside of the forum unless I'm ordering food or someone initals a sensible discussion about it. Each to his own. But when you see false statements and insults i do feel entitled to defend myself and my peers.

Cowboy Bill has been spending too much time playing with Foxhunter, I have no clue what PETA stand for so they are hardly my "cult leader". Do you have anything sensible to say on this subject ? If you want us to shut up, why don't you just get out of the V&V section, can you not figure out that V&V are likey to be here ?

If you look at other forums, take DIY as an example, there aren't non-DIYers going in there slagging them off, its a fourm for swapping ideas and technical advice. If people don't like DIY, they stay out. I guess there are a few poeple who cannot grasp this concept and are trying to ruin this forum but we've got news for them. We are not pale face weaklings so unlikely to go away anytime soon.

It must be quite debilitating to not have the brain power to understand that if you dont like whats here you can go away..

I've not really witnessed any of the discussions you're talking about, so can't comment too much.

It's sometimes hard for people to understand other people's life choices, and you'll find it with everything....that's just how we all are. I personally can't understand anyone wanting to eat dead flesh, but I don't expect them to understand me enjoying veggy sausage and mash! Everyone stick's up for their own views, and too right! I find discussions about things like this quite interesting, and it would be a pretty boring world if everyone just had to remain quiet so as not to cause friction.

Bring on the debates!

I think it's just that some people can't understand why their diet isn't the one chosen by everybody. (I like it, why don't you?) It goes both ways and isn't only restricted to vegans and meat eaters. In any food taste groups, you get people arguing over the way the food is prepared. My parents wouldn't touch anything that hadn't been boiled or roasted! Meat and three veg, that was it. Stuffed cabbage leaves? They wouldn't even taste it. Even something as simple as melting cheese over cauliflower. Not a chance. I remember doing caramelised carrots and Dad put some on his plate. Mum almost yelled 'Your Dad doesn't like butter on his carrots!' Dad actually came up to me afterwards and whispered 'Actually love, those carrots were delicious! But don't tell your Mum!'

i agree with you totally! i'm a vegetarian and i get that crap all the time!! i live in alabama, and vegetarians are like aliens here. SO WHAT if we choose not eat meat! nobody understands that!! people just need to mind their own business and let vegetarians make their own decisions.

there is a woman who works with my fella and she makes it known that she is a veggie

if anyone is eating a meat sandwich with their lunch then she starts going on about innocent animals being killed and stuff like that trying of put them off eating their lunch.

no-one has a go at her but she doesnt shut up.
what is the point? i couldnt care less.

i eat what i want and like and i dont force it on anyone

Because we have Muppet's like Foxhunter and gay Cowboy bill hanging around either asking pointless meat or fish questions questions or just being plain nuisances!! I think that causing trouble must really 'get their rocks' off for them otherwise they wouldn't keep at it!!

Otherwise it would be recipe swapping or general veg/vegan tips and maybe swapping points of view with enlightened omnivores like 'rob b ' or 'I like soup'.
