it will increase heart rate

Smoking causes fatty deposits to build up in the arteries around the heart and body. This reduces the diameter of the arteries. This causes the heart to beat faster to push the blood through a smaller space.

On average, tobacco increases your heart rate 10 to 20 beats per minute, and it increases your blood pressure reading by 5 to 10 mmHG (because it constricts the blood vessels).

by smoking you are narrowing the arteries to your heart as the nicotine & tar build up and damage your cells which in turn do not reproduce properly causing your blood to thicken & in turn causes your poor heart to pump even harder to get the blood around your already straining body which may cause a heart defect such as a murmer/heart disease/heart attack/pulmonary heart disease...so give up now, and live a little longer!!
