It never goes away it may lie dormant and never bother you.
In fact that is what usually happens.
if you haven't been diagnosed as having hpv you might want to get immunized .
Get regular pap smears and any changes in your cervix will get picked up real early.
so you don't develop cancer

There is no cure for HPV, but your immune system can fight it off and cause it to go dormant where it does not cause you any problems. HPV is very tricky, I don't know that it ever really goes away completely though since there is no cure. All it takes is a weak spot in your immune system to flare up again, believe me I have had it since 1995. Of course, many people can have it and never even know it because it doesn't cause them any problems.

Yes. There is no "cure" for HPV, although in most women the infection goes away on its own. Their bodies can basically "fight off" the virus. Not everyone can get rid of the virus though. Some people will have it their whole life.

yes, it is true, it can go away on its own. but for some people it does not and can lead to cervical cancer in some woman. i think that you should go see your ob/gyn if you have any more questions or at least go to webmd.com. that is a really good medical website that has all kinds of great info. all you have to do is type in hpv and it will bring up all kinds of articles and info and where to find a dr. and such. hope it helps. :)
