I am a Type one diabetic, and I asked my endocrinologist about 6 months ago about the nasal insulin. He told me it wasn't available to prescribe yet. I'm not sure if it is available now, but it's probably in clinical trials.

Exubera is not yet widely available. I don't know of anyone who has had any luck in getting it...and most type 1's won't be using it. It has it's limits on dosing with the packets containing set amounts of insulin (I think 1 and 3 mg?) and you can't use half units. This can make it very difficult for some people. I don't see it gaining much popularity with type 1's and unless they can do something with the huge inhaler device I don't think it's going to be popular with anyone else either.
