Have you got a plain sheet which you could use? And the table cloth you have left which is ok, use like a runner in the middle of the table?
Another suggestion, don't have a table cloth, but cut the one you have down and make it a runner down the centre of the table

I would just quickly wash and dry the tablecloth (if you have laundry machines onsite)....hold dinner for 30 mintes while you serve drinks and recruit some assitance to help you pull it all together....

If you just laid the table, give it a cigarette and snuggle with it for a little while. That should help.

use your curtains or knock the other half of your table to make it even...just tell your visitors that's the new art of 2007.

You presumably mean it's wet? 35 minutes won't dry it without staining, so do without it and just use place settings, telling your guests all about it - if they are friends, they'll understand and forgive, if they're not, why have them at your party?
