we moved to tn. 7 years ago and can't find a chinese resturant that serves butterfly shrimp. The place we used to go to in N.Y. had a great recipe where the shrimp were dipped in a batter with bacon attached and then served over a large bed of sauteed onions with a rich brown sauce. Sure would love to be able to duplicate it here at home.

I got something better. Well at least i think so. Buy some large clams and clean them but save the shell. Cut up the meat and put it in a bowl along with shrimp and ham mix it up and put the mixture in each of the shells plus add some chopped onion and tomato and montzarella cheese and some velvetta or what ever yellow cheese you prefer . also a small amount of butter or margarine and seasonings as in seasoning salt and pepper and a touch of garlic powder. Only a touch unless you like alot of garic. Close up the shells and wrap in foil and place in the oven for about 15 minutes. Once done open and serve. either in the shell or in a dish with any side dish you prefer.
If you look up the restaurant where you used to go to they will probably send you the recipe so you can do it your self.
