What are your ideas or concerns with stem cell research?

im all for it

totipotent cells are the future, baby!!

but really, it's in the hands of very well qualified, experienced scientists. we're not talking about ye olde experiments anymore.

i dont really have any concerns, i have faith in those scientists!

I think the debate on stem cell research is ludicrous. I honestly don't understand how any thinking person can oppose all stem cell research, regardless of the methodology. Eventually, research in these areas may give us cures to many diseases that we now can do little for, and we may even be able to grow tissues or whole organs in vitro, rather than having to rely on transplants, the possible benefits to humanity are enormous.
On the other side you seem to have a coalition of people who feel that their religious beliefs trump actual real world benefits and that it's more important to stand on principal than to try to help people, and that I will never understand.

Personally I am against the whole process of extracting stem cells. But the news the other day said something about a new way of extracting the cells.

As for the research, I would greatly like to see some results on what they can fix/cure.
