Okay, so my friends and I are going to be semi hosting an 80's party, and we need to know what kind of food to serve there. We thought it would be fun to see all the tacky clothes and shoes and hairdo's again so... Here we are, having a party.

Anyways... Can you give me some ideas of some good, popular 80's foods?? Main dishes, side items, drinks, desserts, etc.

Thanks!!

This is only tough because in the 80's, my mother's cooking was still based in te 60's. I remember jello, simple iceberg lettuce salads with cucumber slices, and this weird dressing called Dorothy Lynch. I think it was sort of like a catalina or light french dressing. And then of course you can't leave out Doritos! The regular kind, not cool ranch or any of the newer flavors. Tombstone frozen pizzas. Mt. Dew. Pixie Stix if you can find them.

Actually, thinking about this is making me nostaligic for high school sleepovers!

Good answers with TAB and wine coolers. Actually, sushi was really hip then, though it still is now. Reese's Pieces. Five Alive.

Monkeybread! LOL

Nouveau cuisine was hip then too... Extremely small portions on big plates... too funny.

Wasn't fondue dying out by the mid-80's as I recall. Chocolate or cheese for example.

Pasta was very popular in the '80's until we all figured out that too many carbs were making us fat.
