I have pneumonia. Been on anitbiotics for 5 days now. Temperature broke 36 hours ago and is now normal. Still weak and lethargic. Is it ok to get close to my wife and kids now?

Depends upon whether it is viral or bacterial in nature. Since you are on antibiotics, it is safe to assume that a bacteria has been identified. I wouldn't be breathing in the face of my wife and or kids, but with common sense, (don't cough in their faces, wash your hands, don't leave soiled tissues around, etc) they should be OK>

Have them wash their hands. Handwashing is the best defense against pneumonia. I treat patients with pneumonia every day and have had no ill effects. Just don't sneeze in there face! Good luck!

yes, no more chance of being contagious since youve been on an antibiotic for over 3 days.

if you have no fever, then you probably are not contagious any longer, but avoid sharing drinks and that type of contact until you are well, some sicknesses are caused by germs, some are caused by viruses
