A month ago, while at the clinic, I was using the restroom when the toilet paper I was about to use fell into the clinic trashcan. I actually dropped it in twice, accidentally. Anyway, I didn't give it much thought and just took it out of the bin and used it (yes, very gross I know, but I was in such a hurry and wasn't thinking straight!).

Then later I realized just how nasty a clinic's trashcan can be with used latex gloves, people who toss in their used toilet paper (I really hate it when they do this... flush the things), old urine cups (gag). So how likely is one can catch HIV or some other STD under these conditions? The paper didn't feel soiled or anything but it still fell into a dirty trashcan...

I was at the clinic due to a Batholin's cyst on my labia that I had gotten 2 weeks before. Nothing related to STDs as I'm still a virgin. ^.~

It is very highly unlikely that you would catch any kind of std or HIV type illnesses. (Usually body fluids need to be exchanged with direct contact.)

If anything, you may have exposed your bottom to more than usual bacteria. I personally would not fret over it. Sometimes we breathe worst things in the air and environment than what we pick up off of counters and trash barrels. Tis a shame, but true.

HIV no, the HIV virus dies as soon as it comes in contact with air. However, Hepatitis should be a concern. The HEP virus can live about a week or so outside the body.

Ewww used urine cups should be disposed of in a special place for biohazardous waste. It is very unlikely that u caught something that way, but don't do it again. That's nasty. U have a higher chance of catching something if u didn't wash ur hands afterwards.

sorry, I can't be much help, but I'd call the doctor you were there to see and ask them.

I think if you turned the TP inside out, you might be good. I also think that there's a possibility for everything.

I seriously doubt it......HIV virus dies after a short exposure to the open environment.

Your best bet to find out the answer is to ask a nurse or your doctor.

Ewwwww.......I would have rather had my panties wet from urine than to have put that toilet paper against MY hoo--hoo.

Of course you could have gotten something.
