The key is to make small changes to diet and lifestyle. Learn as much as you can about the condition to assist her/him in making informed choices. For example: week 1- substitute sugar for a sweetener whist introducing more vegetables to the diet. In week 2, try placing your regular snacks with low fat & sugar alternatives while introducing some form of exercise while maintaining all the changes made in week 1. Foods to include: wholemeal/ grain alternatives to bread, flour, pasta and biscuits. Go for grilled or baked options rather than fried foods. Sugar-free or no added sugar varieties of drinks.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

she shouldn't over eat carbs (sugar) but everyone else has told you that.
I am a type 1 diabetic and i'm 31 years old and a mom/wife/teacher. The one thing I will tell you is If you question everthing your friend puts in her mouth your asking for trouble. At first I had people asking can you eat that? All the time I hated it. I take good care of myself and do everthing I should but I hate it when I am second guessed. Now if you see your friend slowely killer herself with food thats different. You could ask her to let you go to a nutrition calss with her or read some of the diabetic books that are out there.

you have to basically avoid sweets, but if you are controlling your sugar i think it's okay to have a treat once in a while.. avoid greesy foods ,can lead to high cholestrol high factor in diabetes patients.

Mostly starch like pasta and bread as they convert to sugar in the body that causes problems and also any refined sugars. Only artificial sweetners can be allowed. This diet is very hard to understand so go to health services and get an example.

BAR is right. There is nothing worse to a diabetic that some friend thinking that they know better than you and tell you what you can and cannot eat. It's very annoying, and unless your friend asks you for advise on what to eat, I wouldn't give it.

Type 2? Avoid or severely limit carbohydrates. Her doc or dietician can give a list and help greatly with the proper diet.
