a particular time era would be fun...20's or 30's with some great music and dress for the era.
red hatters were just in my hometown and they did a scavenger hunt all through the downtown stores. All the local stores decorated in red for them and wore red hats...lots of red and purple around that day...it was really cute.

jewwelry parties are lots of fun. They are popular enough that you can find people who bring all the stuff and you pay x amount per person to make your project.
Also a lot of fun to all go out to a porcelin studio and have the party there. Since you are booking ahead - you can ask if you can have the owner open the store just for your party in the evening. It will be fun, and still feel private.

Decorate everything in Red & Purple and have the ladies dress in those colors. Have a door prize for the "Best Outfit".
Have a tea party with finger foods and cookies (really good ones) and then have either (or both) a candle party / jewelry party (they are similar to tupperware parties). Ck your phone book or google in your area to see what is available.

January is Crime Stopper awareness month.
You could dress up like cops & robbers.
If you really wanted to get into the theme you could:
1.Have a neighbor hood watch night.
2.Watch cop shows
3.Have a local Police officer stop by & talk to you girls about safety & how to protect yourselfs if someone tried to hurt you.
4.Have theme food like jail bird soup or black eye peas.
5. Or you could have a police officer stripper come over a dane
(if you really wanted to have some fun) ha ha.

With all the heavy holiday eating behind you, you may want to choose a light meal. Perhaps everyone could bring a different kind of salad ?
Then you could have a re gifting Chinese auction.
Sounds like fun.
