I went and saw my Doctor for what you have described, and they were not really able to determine what caused them. I have since stayed away from caffiene, except maybe an occassional cup of decaf. coffee, and get regular exercise 6 days a week. Since I have adopted this regiman, the flutters have virtually stopped. So stay away from the caffiene and get some exercise, and that may help you out. I am also a person that gets uptight easily, and have anxiety. I think controlling anxiety and not getting to uptight can help to control the flutters as well. If the above doesn't help, you should probably see a doctor. Probably nothing wrong, just to be on the safe side. Best of luck to you.

Its probably nothing, a doctor may want to run some tests to be on the safe side, especially if you are older or have a family history of heart problems.
A lot of people have flutters or an eptopic heartbeat without any other problems, most dont even notice it. As the others have said Stress is the main cause, smoking, alcohol and caffeine are also factors.

I've had that for nearly 3 years and its caused by stress at first, but then because you get stressed about thinking about it, it makes the flutters happen more often its a vicious cycle. Basically theres nothing wrong with you its just every now and then you release this surge of adrenaline and its your heart reacting, all the doctors i've seen have just told me to find ways to calm down and take a deep breath

It's always best to check these things with your doctor. However, I get the same thing and it tends to be if I am very tired (i.e. mainly late at night) or if I am under a lot of stress. It can also happen when I've been drinking too many caffeinated drinks. My doctor checked everything and it was fine so you probably will be too.

No, everyone gets them from time to time. Possible causes are too much caffeine, certain medications can cause them even over the counter ones like antihistimines, and if you are older it is one of the symptoms of menopause. If you are still worried see a Dr.

i get the same thing. it feels like an irregular beat sometimes. it's almost like a quick rush of adrenaline. i haven't have any problems with it so i don't think it's anything to worry about, unless it starts to happen more often, like on a daily basis.

That sounds very much like ectopic heartbeats.
Try googling the phrase and you should be reassured that these are very rarely anything to worry about - happens to everyone in varying degrees.
