Hi Rose

Here are ideas to treat it.

Cause
The inflammation is usually caused by lung infections. Determining the exact cause of the lung infection is vital so that it can be properly addressed.

Caution: Pleurisy-like symptoms can be a sign of lung cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, or pulmonary embolism (blockage of a pulmonary artery by foreign matter). If these conditions are present, seek prompt medical attention.

Natural Cures

Diet: Follow an organic diet that emphasizes fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh soups, and drink plenty of pure filtered water.

Herbs: Mix equal parts of dried mullein and pleurisy root and drink as a hot infusion several times a day. In addition, combine the tinctures of pleurisy root, elecampane, and echinacea in equal parts and take one teaspoon of this mixture three times a day. Also, take either a clove or raw garlic or three capsules of garlic oil daily with each meal. Tumeric can also be helpful.

Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include: Aconite, Bryonia, Apis mel., Cantharis, Kali carb., Sulfur, Arsen alb., and Phosphorus.

Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold temperatures to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of hot and/or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used in the home as part of a self-care program. Many Naturopathic Physicians, Physical Therapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment. I suggest several at-home hydrotherapy treatments.
*Purified water is essential for any hydrotherapy treatment. Remedies for Treating Chlorinated Bath Water offers clear instructions and recommendations.

Juice Therapy: The following juice combinations can be helpful: Carrot, celery, and parsley; carrot and pineapple; and carrot, beet, cucumber, and garlic.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following supplements can help relieve symptoms and address related lung infection: vitamin A, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, lung glandular, essential fatty acids, proteolytic enzymes, bromelain and colloidal silver.

Alternative Professional Care
If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating pleurisy: Acupuncture, Bodywork, Detoxification Therapy, Energy Medicine (Electrodermal Screening, Ondamed), Environmental Medicine, Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Osteopathy, Oxygen Therapy, Qigong, Rolfing, and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Best of health to you

Cheers

It is not always real that should you did have pleurisy you would not be in a position to respire in any respect. Pleurisy may also be both as a result of contamination or trauma. Pleurisy is infection of the pleura. The pleura is the liner across the lungs and it strains the within of the chest wall. When trauma happens, a gap is made within the pleura and air will get into the gap among the pleura and the lungs. This places strain at the lungs and may also be VERY painful. Especially while coughing, sneezing, guffawing, yelling, deep respiring and yawning. It too can harm with simply natural respiring. If you have been to wrap an ACE bandage round your chest, you could discover a few remedy considering that the strain of the bandage could displace the strain across the lungs. This is normally a clue to look in case you have pleurisy. Treatment is on the whole software of a compression gadget corresponding to an ACE bandage and anti inflammatory meds corresponding to Ibuprofen. With contamination, the pleura will get infected and once more, strain is placed on you lungs. Antibiotic are on the whole wanted right here as good as anti inflammatory meds.

I have the same problem. I don't have an answer to this, but find the answers others have left to be interesting.

In the beginning, I thought I was having a heart attack. I have been to Mayo and had a slew of tests done for my heart. Everything came back just fine.

I suspected it was pleurisy. It hurts really super bad when I exhale. I have an appointment with my MD soon, so I'll be asking.

It's scary....and yes, it hurts so bad that it stops me in my tracks....and I usually want to hold my breath...afraid of the pain...

Best wishes...Hope you find a solution.

Pleurisy is caused when the pleural lining between the ribs and lungs "dries out" and it's the rubbing of the ribs against the lungs that hurts when you breathe. My doctor prescribes antibiotics, heat and tylenol.
