she is mid 50's, 118 lbs, on thyroid meds and sadly a life-long smoker.

I'm sorry, i should have mentioned that we are on a waiting list to see the pulmanoligist. The wait is very stressful. The ct scan and x-ray showed the spots.

I have been thru this very same experience. I had pneumonia and was hospitalized approx 2 years ago. After I was discharged to home. I had to go back for a follow up chest x-ray in 2 weeks. They found a nodule or spot 1 cm wide in my left lung. I was terrified. It wasn't there upon discharge from the hospital and had developed it within a 2 week period. My dr told me to not worry about it, (oh sure, can you imagine that?) and just wait for about 4 weeks and re-x-ray and see about it then. Well, I did wait and had the x-ray done. It was gone! My dr. said that sometimes after having pneumonia there is some residual "yuck" left in the lungs that has to dissipate on it's own and can sometimes look like a growth, lump, nodule, etc. It finally did resolve itself and I've had no problem since. So don't worry. Give yourself time to get completely over the pneumonia and see what happens then. I think you'll probably be just fine. Pnumonia takes awhile to completely resolve and go away. Smoking doesn't help much, and keeps it there longer. Maybe you could quit, if not, cut WAY down. Good luck to you, and I wish you a very speedy recovery! I am 49 years old, 160 lbs, and life-long smoker also. Hey David W! Where the he** do you come off with all that "holistic" approach stuff you put on here? All these kind people wanted was just a simple answer to their question. Not a book on your opinion of what the medical community is trying to accomplish by treating cancer...etc. Geez, Dude! Too much info...

It could be. It could also be the result of pneumonia. Didn't the doctor have anything to say about it? I can't imagine a doctor telling someone they have spots on their lungs without running through all the scenarios.

What has the doctor said? He/she is in the best position to tell you what these spots mean. It could only be scar tissue, but that's for the doctor to explain to you and to your wife. Never let doctor's get away with not explaining things clearly.

It maybe or maybe not. If she has had a battle with pneumonia before it may be some scaring. Don't get worried until the doctor tells you to worry.

I'm with your last commenter (unless someone else has snuck in between us). I had pneumonia with the spots too... and they went away as well.

Maybe they will scare her into quitting?
Best of luck to both of you... I hope she mends quickly.

Maybe, maybe not.....
It could be any number of things - I sincerely suggest seeking the answer from a medical practitioner and hope you will both try not to worry .....(I know easier said than done)
I hope all is well...

I have always believed that the mainstream medical industry is not interested in finding a cure for cancer because it makes too much profit with its present barbarous methods.
Eventually, I came across a detailed report which agreed with my findings, and I have included it in my web page at

http://dgwa1.fortunecity.com/body/cancer.html

By reading this report, you will also convince yourself that it is best to ignore the mainstream cancer industry, and seek alternative cures. Also you should bear in mind that the medical industry will do anything to protect its profitable position, including disparaging alternative healers or even creating bogus court cases.

I believe that cancer is a whole body thing, which in 80 percent of cases manifests itself by producing symptoms in the weaker parts of the body, and therefore appearing localised. It is this treatment of symptoms instead of cause which creates the profitable, yet non-successful approach of mainstream medicine.

Some cures are listed on the web page too.

It is therefore obvious that a holistic approach is required, based on cleansing, diet, exercise and debugging.

CLEANSING
The best way of cleansing is to fast.

but if a patient is too weak for that, or does not fancy the idea, then alternative cleanses are available.

DIET,
The best diet is vegetarian, avoiding all processed, frozen or micro-waved foods and drinks, and based on fresh fruit, fresh vegetables - preferably organic, nuts and seeds. Drinks should be clean water or freshly squeezed orange juice.

Many researchers promote the benefits of vitamin B17 as a healer. this can be found in the following foods:
Apple seeds, alfalfa sprouts, apricot kernels, bamboo shoots, barley, beet tops, bitter almond, blackberries, boysenberries, brewer’s yeast, brown rice, buckwheat, cashews, cherry kernels, cranberries, currants, fava beans, flax seeds, garbanzo beans, gooseberries, huckleberries, lentils, lima beans, linseed meat, loganberries, macadamia nuts, millet, millet seed, peach kernels, pecans, plum kernels, quince, raspberries, sorghum cane syrup, spinach, sprouts (alfalfa, lentil, mung bean, buckwheat, garbanzo), strawberries, walnuts, watercress, yams.

A commercial preparation of B17 is available called Laetrile.

EXERCISE
Exercise should be sufficient to create a sweat, but not sufficient to make you gasp for breath or feel over-tired. About one hours exercise every day is best.

DEBUGGING
There are various theories about how bugs create cancer.

Hulda Clark suggests that parasites are the cause, and that they can be disposed of by using a zapper.

Zappers are available from
