Hmm,
Are we talking about an outdoor fountain or a beef version of a "chocolate fountain".
If the latter, then you will need to remove lumps and to add something to make the stew more "oily/creamy" in order to make the "sheets" of liquid pour down. I am sure it is not impossible, but I suspect it will take a while finding additives that work and do not adversely alter flavour.
If an outdoor fountain, then yes, though if you are wish your fountain to be "with lumps" then you will need a fairly large bore, slow running pump - and wide pipes - otherwise you will mascerate everything into a thick soup :)
After you close this question off, PLEASE tell us what on earth this is about :)
Good luck

Almost anything is possible, but you would have to puree the stew and render it chunkless...but it would end up looking more like a puke fountain even then...the images I am coming up with are NOT pretty! lol

Even if the chunks didn't clog up the mechanism, they would make a mess splashing into the bottom - what in the world made you think of such a thing? Obviously your mom needs to keep a really close eye on you!!

It would have to be a soup, a stew would clog the fountain.

Possible, sure, although I suspect the chunks would clog up the works and the whole thing would get rancid and full of unhealthy microbes pretty quickly. Yuck.

I don't know if it's possible, but it sure does give me a really hilarious mental image of what one would look like and the mess it would make, lol...
Thanks for the chuckle! (And for the 2 points too!)
And then I read the previous guy's response about bringing his mashed potato couch after I had submitted mine and really lost it... oh boy, I needed that laugh. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!

Not only is it possible, it is the single greatest idea I have heard this entire day. Congatulations. Make it, and I'll buy it.
