as you say you know your brother is injecting,so therefore you care and love him. I will assume you want to help him as much as possible. To do this you need to go to your family GP and express your concerns about your brother and his problem, they will give you the right help and advice. Whatever you do dont pressure your brother he will close and shut you out totally.

Yep my brother also an intravenous drug user. depressing, isn't it?
I went through years of hell trying to find out why he took this route. I keep thinking back to when we were both kids, trying to think of any event or anything that could have made him go like this. And eventually I decided that he just has a hard path to follow- THAT"S ALL. If you give him money, you will end up always giving him money.
Drug injecting is just a way of being the centre of attention. In my opinion, it is the ultimate selfish act.
I dont' t mean to sound harsh but remember what it says in the bible- "am I my brother's keeper"..? What I mean is that people who inject drugs are usually the centre of attention, they usually have a whole family worryimg about them, trying to support them. The whole FAMILY creates and supports the addictive situation. The family is addictive, NOT the individual.
Hope this helps. Good luck, and fair play to you.

if you find out WHAT hes taking then you do some research into it - if someone has a mental health issue and they take drugs then unfortunatley the problem gets worse - not good if they have got a serious problem in the first place. Injecting means its probably class A making it even worse... As a doctor

they never do admit to having a problem, my partner use to inject drugs, and I'm sorry to say mental illness goes along side. drug induced psychosis doesn't help with his mental state. how i got my partner to stop was first i filled his syringes with calligraphy ink and then told him if he was to do it again then he better be prepared to do me as well. it worked thank god. all i can suggest is be there for him, he'll need you. it won't just be a drug habit users also get a needle fixation, they get as much out of the needle as they do out of the drug.

The first thing to do is to make sure that you and your family members are safe from him. Contact his doctor and tell him/her what the situation is.If he's abusive to you and others he needs to LEAVE. By ignoring and tolerating this behavior your enabling him(not that you mean too). The A and E channel has a program called Intervention. They ask people to call if they have someone who needs help.

Khalid D - you're an *sshole!! You obviously have no feelings!! This person is asking for help and advice - not your disguting comments! If you can't say anything helpful - don't say anything at all!
Now I've got that off my chest - I really hope that your brother realises that he needs help. Maybe you could ask him to ring a support line who can advice him how he can help himself. Try FRANK on 0800 776600.

if you are asking anyone here for help you are asking the wrong people. I don't think anyone here is qualified to give you a intelligence answer. we might feel sorry for you but that's all your going to get. A drug user is a user of people

Replace one of his 'injections' with lemon juice. Watch him inject lemon juice into himself. That'll make him think twice before trying it again. Might also kill him... but then that'll serve him right for being a dickweed.
If you want a slightly less harsh approach... ask the police to investigate. Theres no love like hard love.
