I was brought up as a catholic but it was forced down my throat so i gave it up. I dont believe in God and what I think is people do believe in God to protect them from the knowledge that theres no divine plan for them, that theyre pretty much on their own. What do you think?

I don't believe in god and never did, even as a kid I asked my teacher why we had to believe in god so much my mum was called up to my school and asked what was wrong with me, displaying free thought was not encouraged in my school. I think some people believe in a god because the alternative is to frightening to them, or would require them to ask questions of themselves that they are not willing or unable to answer. But I also believe that some people genuinely believe in a greater power that looks out for and guides them, and if it brings them happiness and comfort then who are we to question them.
I think its funny that you stated that your an atheist or non-believer and that you had religion forced down your throat at young age, only to get answers along the line of "your wrong were right", people like this display the ignorance and close minded nature that religion is responsible for.....

It's true, alto of people give God up because people push Him down people thoughts...but that's people not God. God is a gentleman.
He said, I stand at the door and I knock....
He doesn't force himself into your hear the way people do. I wish Christians would stop doing that. The only one that can work with people's hearts are Jesus.
...and read mere Christianity by C.S Lewis...really

I believe in God for a billion reasons. But firstly, I asked God if he would fight for me? Even if I was more like Thomas, He did,
Don't listen to peoples' version of God, listen to God

My friend, you have been discouraged because of people and for that i am sorry.

I was brought up a Christian but only got saved 7 years ago after my then 3 year old son began seeing demons in our home. I then gave my heart to the Lord and He has healed and delivered me from so much. He has given me peace and joy beyond all understanding.

I believe in Him because He has really set me free and given me joy. He leads me every day and I love having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

If you would like any information, feel free to email me on ccc4jesus@yahoo.com.

Dont look to people who will always disappoint you, but God will never.

Be blessed.

i belive in god because i am god. i can just look at all of those paintings of me in churches and flea markets and then look in the mirror and think to my self, "hey, im that guy. im god." sometimes there is confusion about if im the son of god or god himself, but i am fully god and fully man. it can be explained: when im with a woman, shes screaming "oh god!", afterwards she says, "youre the man, jesus." therefore i am all god and ALL man.

i think it is just socially easier for them to go along with the crowd, plus it's mentally easier to try to understand everything, so it's win/win
