my boyfriend and i have been talking about having sex for the first time. physically, we're prepared, i'm on the pill and we have condoms, but i'm not quite sure how to know if we're both emotionally ready. any advice?

Your never going to know if your ready until you do it. Just remember that at any time stop means stop and no means no.

Don't over think it or make it into some Holy Grail moment. First time sex is often a little awkward. Love making is like anything else, it requires practice, confidence and knowledge. You are each trying to learn and discover what feels best for both yourselves and the other. So start with a sense of fun and let it happen naturally as you go.

If you have to doubt it, honey you're not ready. Make sure he's the one you want to be your first, and that you're ready.

Firstly it would help to know how old you both are, secondly its always been my motto "if you have to ask "you probably aren't emotionally ready

I think if you are having doubts about it....then you should wait longer...i mean you dont HAVE to have sex.....when the time is right you will just know....both of you!

if you feel your ready or have any second thoughts talk to your guy and let him understand.....both of you should be ready...not only one
