Im planning on moving to San Antonio with my future husband and 5 year old daughter. My husband will be attending school fulltime and I will be a 1st LT in the USAF. Will it be difficult to live off of only one military salary?

Keep in mind that while the salary is not much for a family of 3 (something like$30,000), you will also be getting BAS and BAH, so your housing and food will be taken care of. It might be difficult but it won't be bad!
In San Anotonio, I think BAH for a 1st Lt. is something like $700 or $800 a month (at least it was when my husband and i were there like 5 years ago) and BAS for just the two of us was around $150. So your rent and probably most of your food will be taken care of.

LOL, ask a enlisted member of the rank between E-1 and E-5. They make it happen, and a silver bar LT 0-2 makes quite alot more than a E-5.

You will find San Antonio a wonderful city. Great cost of living. Your salary should do you nicely. Unless you have champagne taste. Your daughter will love the sites. Sea World, River Walk, Fiesta Tx, Alamo. I did all of my military training there and had a blast. And saved some money.

Sure, but you have to have a BUDGET and then STICK to it! We are lower Enlisted....soon to be NCO....there is just the two of us, but we do just fine. We have other responsibilities like buying a house that we make monthly payments AND the repairs when needed.
Your Rank will provide nicely for your family...just don't be one of the families that seem to think that they 'deserve' to be on Food Stamps and WIC.... Trust me, MANY people in the Military feel that they deserve the Programs.
