Make a simple pasta dish, like Penne Arrabiata.
Basically you boil your pasta til al dente
Make a sauce as follows
Stir fry garlic with olive oil and lots of red chilli in olive oil til the aroma rises. Add a can of chopped italian tomatoes, and simmer for abt 8 minutes. When the sauce is ready pour over the pasta, sprinkle with mozarella and pop under the grill for abt 5 mins til the cheese just melts.. u cud add dry origanum to the cheese before popping it in the oven
Serve with a good glass of wine and some shop bought salad
Hope this helps :-)

My pot roast is the bomb!
The Best Pot Roast
1 large chuck roast, not too fatty. I like the ones with the bone
8-9 red skin potatoes
1 lb of baby carrots (the prepealed ones)
Put the roast in a large roasting pan. (don't use a rack in the pan) Put the potatoes, cut into 1/4's, and the carrots around the roast. Mix the following until well blended and pour over the top of the roast and all the veggies.
2 cans of undeluted cream of mushroom soup
1/2 c beef broth
1/2 package of dry onion soup mix
1/2 c water
1 tbl worchester sauce
The cover the whole pan tightly in heavy duty foil and bake 325 for 4 hours. It's a low temerature so you can do some shopping while it's baking or something. I throw it in before we go to church, and when we get home, it's done. It's really easy and delicious. You'll impress him with this.

Nigella Lawson made a chicken meal that is soooo easy and that always impresses my guests. The best thing is: You can do the whole cooking before the guests arrive.
I'm Norwegian, so some of the words might seem funny to you, I just don't know the proper words to use in English...
6 Potatoes (each cut in four "boats") - do not peel.
2 Yellow onions (each cut in four "boats") - do not peel.
1 whole garlic - do not peel, just put the small boats in.
2-3 green peppers - cut in big slices.
1 big chicken - raw - cut in big pieces (6-8 pieces).
Put everything in a pan, season with salt and pepper, put over a little olive oil, goes in the oven for about an hour. 170 degrees Celcius. Serve with bread, olive oil and if you want: Aioli.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm........
Good luck!

1)Rice (use a rice cooker or the pot if you're more experienced, follow instruction on the bag on how to cook the rice) OR mashed potatoes (get those from the box, some are pretty good)
2)heat some oil on frying pan on medium heat, covered, place a salmon fillet, 7 minutes on each side
3) frozen vegetables placed in a bowl, pour 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce, add garlic & onion powder, cover the bowl, microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes
4)3 tablespoons of mayonaise, squeeze half a lemon, a few dash of white pepper powder, some dried parsley, mix
Serve the rice with the salmon and the vegetables.

Chicken in Olive Oil with Thyme.
Cut the whole chicken the way you want it, remove skin rub with salt and pepper, put the chicken in an oven proof container, add half a cup of olive oil and sprinkle with dried thyme. Cook in the oven until tender.
Serve with Rice and you can add some baby carrots a few minutes before removing it from the oven.
Watch and see how this simple meal will make him ask for more.

Get some fresh figs. Cut in half & grill for 6 mins on high heat. Meanwhile mix half equal quantities of honey and red wine vinegar in a bowl. Press either blue stilton or white stilton with apricots into the figs and put back under the grill until cheese bubbles nicely. Serve on a bed of 'leaves' and drizzel honey/vinegar over. I guarantee you - it's fabulous.

Stir-fry, head for Thai type ingredients. It takes 5 minutes, tastes wonderful and leaves a [relatively] nice smell.

Just boil chicken with lots of orange juice. Don't add anything else. Serve it with rice. It's always a big success!
