Type "Freeware Downloads" in Google (or your browser) and you will be amazed at the number of such sites that are available. Beware though, with "Shareware" you will be expected to pay should you wish to continue using the programme after the trial period. But "Freeware" should, as it's name implies, be free for private (home) use.

never go for free software. pay for the software and use. if everybody goes for free software what will happen to software manufacturer. they should starve i.e. all. then one day there will be nobody to develop/produce software. a person/company has developed software means they have had lot of difficulty, determiniation, dedication. that should be paid. so never download free software. pay up, buy and then use

Download.com is quite good. It has a collection of freeware and shareware. Here:

http://www.download.com/

Go there, and you can search for whatever files you want there by the directory or the search engine. The site will also tell you if the file is a freeware or shareware.
